OCSO 2025 Youth Concerto Competition Winners
Daniel Yang – Piano
Daniel Yang is an eighth grader at Eagle Hill Middle School in Manlius, NY. He studies violin with Peter Rovit and piano with Ida Trebicka. His recent accolades include first place in the 2025 Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music Youth Chamber Music Competition as pianist for the Wolfgang Trio, second place in the Senior Division of the 2025 CNYAMT Instrumental Competition (violin), and being named a finalist in the CMM Youth Concerto Competition (violin). He is a member of the Syracuse Young Artist Orchestra. Outside of music, he enjoys science, swimming, and sailing.
Wentian Yuan – Piano
Wentian Yuan is in 9th grade at Fayetteville-Manlius High School in NY. He has been playing piano since 2016 and began to study with Mr. John Spradling since 2018. He was the first prize winner in the Intermediate Division of the 2025 CNYAMT Artists Pianos Advanced Piano Competition and a finalist in the CMM Youth Concerto Competition in 2024. He also likes swimming, reading, and playing video games, besides playing piano.Â
